Collaboration

Our group collaborates with a range of external stakeholders and other R&D areas within EPRI to ensure successful execution and transfer of our research. Industry Activities

EXAMPLES OF KEY COLLABORATION ACTIVITIES INCLUDE: 

  • Coordinate input, contribute to discussions, and support technology transfer for Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and IEEE Standards Association to the following groups: Power & Energy Society (IEEE PES) Including leadership roles in several committees, working groups and task forces such as Power System Operation, Planning and Economics Committee (PSOPE), Transmission & Distribution (T&D), Power System Dynamic Performance (PSDP), Power System Relaying and Control Committee (PSRC), Electric Distribution Planning Group (EDPG), and Radiation Safety Information Computational Center (RSICC) as well as standards leadership in IEEE 1547, P2800
  • North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Coordinate and contribute, including System Planning Impacts from Distributed Energy Resources Working Group (SPIDER), Inverter-Based Resource Performance Subcommittee (IRPS), Load Modeling Working Group (LMWG), Large Loads Task Force (LLTF), Electric Vehicle Task Force (EVTF), Synchronized Measurement Subcommittee (SMS), Interconnection Conditions Technical Subcommittee (ICTS), Probabilistic Assessment Working Group (PAWG), and the NERC Resources Subcommittee 
  • Energy Systems Integration Group (ESIG) Lead Ops/Markets WG; board member; Reliability working group (WG)
  • Coordinate input, contribute to discussions, and support technology transfer for International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) Standards to the IEC TC8 SC8A JWG 5, System issues regarding integration of wind and PV generation into bulk electrical grid
  • Other organizations and consortia we engage with in various ways, including joint activities, participation in working groups, conferences and committees.
